Alexei Dolgikh accident
Moscow, Russia
A Russian businessman identified as Alexei Dolgikh, 36, was killed early Monday after his Lamborghini overturned and burst into flames on a major highway outside Moscow. One passenger also died at the scene, while two others were hospitalized with serious injuries.
Authorities say the crash occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on the International Highway. According to preliminary findings, Dolgikh was driving at high speed when he lost control of the £329,000 (approx. $400,000 USD) luxury vehicle. The car struck a roadside barrier, flipped, and ignited on impact.
“After the collision, the vehicle overturned and caught fire,” the Moscow Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement. “As a result of the accident, two young men were killed, and two others were hospitalized with fractures and other injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.”
The second victim was identified as Ivan Solovyov, while passengers Nikita Tezikov, 21, and Kirill Mochalov, 22, were transported to Botkin Hospital with multiple fractures. Witness photos from the scene show the vehicle engulfed in flames and cash scattered across the highway.
Investigators believe speed was a significant factor, and are reviewing roadside surveillance footage along with vehicle data to determine his precise rate of travel and the vehicle’s final trajectory.
