The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an urgent investigation following the death of a woman, Aladi Johnson, who was found lifeless in a hotel room in Abuja after checking in with an unidentified man.
According to SP Josephine Adeh, spokesperson for the FCT Police, Johnson had lodged at the hotel with a man whose identity and whereabouts remain unknown. The man reportedly checked out before her body was discovered by hotel staff.

“We are actively pursuing leads. The man who checked in with the deceased is a person of interest. Investigators are working diligently to bring clarity to this tragic case,” SP Adeh said in a statement.
Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao Adewale, has directed a comprehensive inquiry into the incident. Detectives are currently reviewing CCTV footage, staff testimonies, and hotel guest records to determine the timeline of events and the man’s involvement, if any.
Authorities have urged the public to come forward with any useful information, as the investigation enters a critical phase.
This case adds to growing concerns over security in hospitality settings across the FCT and may prompt fresh scrutiny of hotel guest registration systems.
